June and July have been really busy. Jim coached Special Olympics Track & Field again this spring. Some of the athletes qualified for the state meet. The team participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run and one of Jen's former students carried the "Flame of Hope" through West Chester. We spent the last weekend of June staying in the dorms at Ohio State University and chaperoning our athletes. They were great and did amazing. We brought home a lot of GOLD!! Our kids loved staying in the dorm & hanging out on campus with the older kids. (Praise God for an air conditioned dorm!!) Addison assured us we should call Pastor David and let him know she wouldn't be coming to preschool in the fall. She was pretty sure she was a Buckeye and would be staying at OSU. There is hope that Jim hasn't brainwashed her into becoming a Falcon!
In July, we traveled to Leesburg, Virginia for a close friend's wedding. It was nice to get away without kids and we were able to go into DC for a few hours to sight see. What an amazing place to be 4th of July Weekend! We've kept so busy and are now wondering where our summer has gone. We go to playgroup once a week, Addison is taking tap, ballet and gymnastics, and constantly begs to go to King's Island. (She's finally tall enough to ride the Beastie!) We've had great weather and been able to enjoy the pool quite a bit too. After 3 short summers, our deck needed to be stained again. It is an ongoing project that has consumed a lot of our time as well.
Here are a few pics. We're sad to see our summer quickly coming to an end. Addison begins preschool in the fall and Jen is going part-time so she will have more time at home with the kids. Hopefully we'll post more of our last few weeks of fun in the upcoming days.
